About Justin Michael

Justin Michael- Photographer

A brief history of me-

I was working towards a career as a chef when I began taking photographs of my food for my resume. I became more interested in taking the pictures than I was with cooking the food. I started photographing anything and everything I could, and enrolled at UNA as a photography major. I was a student photographer for the FlorAla and the Diorama. As a student photographer I was fortunate enough to be mentored by Shannon Wells, the university photographer. This opportunity helped me gain experience in photojournalism, or, telling a story through photographs. As a native of Florence, Alabama I have been influenced heavily by local artists and photographers: Shannon Wells, Charles Moore, Robert Rausch, Andrew Wardlow and my mother, Rhea Fulmer, who is also a professional photographer. Mark Seliger, Steve Llama and Annie Leibovitz are just a few well known photographers that have influenced my work.

About my photography-

Professionalism is of utmost importance to me. My clients are always treated with respect and I am obsessed with satisfying each and every one.

I have a very different style and approach to photographing people. I like to get to know my clients so I can go beyond the "traditional" portrait. A portrait should not merely serve as documentation of what someone looks like, it should also say something about that person.

My experience in photojournalism makes me an excellent choice for photographing your wedding, anniversary or other special event. You will not only get the standard poses, but also a "behind the scenes", photojournalistic style coverage of your event.

I always use a professional lab. You will never get prints from Wal-Mart or any other consumer quality printer. All mounted or canvas panels are made with archival materials. Under normal lighting conditions they will last for generations. All prints 11x14 and larger come mounted to protect the prints from being damaged, provide rigidity and ensure they lie flat when framed.

I only use Rennaissance albums for weddings, the best on the market today.

Thanks for taking the time to become familiar with my work! Please call me at 256-412-0314 or email me at justmike65@comcast.net if you have any questions or if you would like to book a session.

Oil Interpretations

The Oil Interpretation can be either an elegant way to present a bride on her wedding day or beautiful portrait of your Children, Family or a Couple. Whatever the subject, this heirloom quality print is sure to be the focal point of any room. Oil Interpretations are fine art prints that give the impression that heavy oils have been applied to canvas or heavy paper. The face remains realistic, while the body and background undergo a slightly heavier transformation. Please call for pricing.
