About the photographer:

Debra has been photographing moms to be, infants, children, families and engagements for over ten years. Having become a mom of two in June 2010, she realizes even more so how important it is to document your pregnant belly and capture the precious moments in a child's development. She will work with her clients to capture their natural expressions in a photojournalistic, candid style (a great alternative to mall photos)!

Prints can be ordered in black and white and sepia for that timeless effect. All sessions are available for viewing in a private on line gallery approximately two weeks after your shoot.

Planning for the shoot:

What is a good time for the shoot?

We want to capture your child awake and lively, so take nap times into consideration. You may also want to bring a few snacks and a favorite toy along with you. For newborns it's best to schedule your shoot within the first six weeks of life (schedule with us before you deliver). Maternity shoots are best between 32-36 weeks.

What to wear?

Child portraits: You may want to bring an outfit change and some accessories with you (a hat, pretty hair ribbon, fresh flower, favorite doll or teddy, or even a Halloween costume). Layer dressing also works as we can never predict our child's temperament. Clothing should be comfortable, not stiff. Avoid clothing with logos or distracting prints.

Maternity portraits: be sure to remove any tight clothing with elastic bands a few hours before your shoot. Black yoga pants or a long black skirt, and a black tank work really well when photographing your gorgeous belly! Pre maternity jeans also accentuate your belly, (unbuttoned of course).
