Portraits are (and should be) your homes most VALUABLE work of art! Our studio has recently done restoration work for the 2006 tornado and the Hurricane Katrina victims. Those clients describe their photographs as the most precious tangible possession they carried away from the disaster!

The Photographer:
Myra Godby has worked as a professional portrait photographer since 1983. Her love of the art formed as a 12 year old child when she was given her first 35mm SLR by her parents as a Christmas gift.

Myra holds two Bachelor of Arts Degrees from Western Kentucky University...graduating in 1982. She was trained in theatre and television and uses the still light techniques of the old masters. This lost art of still lighting gives her works their distinctive look.
She is a memeber of the Professional Photographers of America...married to Richard Godby...mother to Stephanie Godby and is a member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Hendersonville.
The Staff:
Richard Godby is married to Myra and they are the parents of a 16 year old daughter, Stephanie. Richard holds a degree from Western Kentucky University after which he worked as a television director for 25 years. Richard won many awards including Emmy Awards. He now teaches digital photography at NOSSI School Of Art. Richard is a valuable source of cutting edge information in the digital realm. We are very blessed to have his expertise in our studio.
Allison Brown Bowen hired Myra Godby to photograph her own wedding in 2003. Allsion is married to Brad Bowen. The following August, she became an important part of the studio staff. Allison helps clients with their portrait choices, designs wedding albums and has a great "eye" for framing and matting. Allison creates custom cut matting for wall and album designs.
Stephanie Elizabeth Godby is the daughter of Myra and Richard. She attends Station Camp High School where she is a Sophomore. Stephanie is active in many clubs and is a second year swimmer on the SCHS Swim Team! Stephanie swam on the swim team at Fairvue Plantation Country Club for three years prior to her freshman year at SCHS. . . and is beginning to pick up her dads "bug" for golf. She enjoys the beach, camping and shopping in Los Angeles with her Aunt Marilynn. Stephanie comes to the studio every afternoon following school. She does homework, computer work and talks on the phone! And, sometimes helps her mom get "That Special Smile" from child clients.
Anne Helton assists Myra at many weddings. She became acquainted with Myra about 17 years ago while Myra was photographing Annes cousins wedding. Now, throughout her home, Annes family is documented with photography. Myra Godby's portraits of her family members hang throughout the Helton home. Anne began assisting Myra about 6 years ago. Besides being business associates, they have become the "best of friends"!! Myra and Anne enjoy creating perfect wedding images for every bride they work with!
Terry Collins You will see Terry from time to time with Myra in Anne Heltons absense. Terry has been a friend of the Godby's for 16 years, and began working with Myra occassionally 2 years ago. The couples met while attending church together at Victory Missionary Baptist in Hendersonville. Terry and her husband, Doug, were actually their Sunday School teacher for a few years. Terry has three grown sons and works during the school year as Attendance Clerk at Brown Elementary School in Hendersonville.
Patricia Alvey Myra trained Patricia in wedding and portrait photography approximately 13 years ago. Patricia took what she learned and blossomed!!! She shoots wedding and portrait photography in the Bowling Green, Kentucky area and assists Myra by shooting weddings when Myra is previously booked. Sometimes we are all on the road!!! Patricia is married to Myra's only brother, Tommy. They live in Bowling Green with their 6 year old son, Eli. Patricia works full time for "Fruit Of The Loom" as Planning Manager in Bowling Green.

Our studio is located at: 760 East Main Street in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Driving directions are very easy from Nashville...take I-65 North to Vietnam Veterans Blvd. This is they by-pass around the city of Hendersonville and Old Hickory Lake. Travel on the "by-pass" for about 6 miles then take the Exit #8 (Saundersville Road). At the end of the exit ramp...turn right...then turn right onto "Johnny Cash Blvd or Gallatin Road" at the first traffic light. We are the second business on the left. We have been operating our studio at this location for approximately 7 years.
